F1 Weekend in the Austin Area: What Is On, and What Is Open

The Formula 1 United States Grand Prix runs at Circuit of The Americas this weekend, with qualifying Saturday and the race Sunday at 3:00 p.m. The rest of the metro does not stop for it. Here is what is on, where, and what is open to walk through while you are out.

Saturday, October 24

Austin

Viva la Vida Festival and Parade, 12 p.m. to 11 p.m., Mexic-Arte Museum downtown. Free. Austin’s largest and longest running Day of the Dead event.
Austin Record Convention, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Palmer Events Center. The largest sale of recorded music in the country.
AIA Austin Homes Tour, from 10 a.m., Congress Avenue district. A self guided architecture tour that runs both days.
GemFest, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Shop LC in north Austin. Free.
Black Outside Fest, from 12 p.m., Millennium Youth Entertainment Complex in east Austin.
Common Ground Arts Festival, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Hill Country Galleria in Bee Cave. Free.
Texas football hosts Ole Miss at 6:30 p.m. at Darrell K Royal Texas Memorial Stadium, on ABC.

Round Rock

Mainly Art, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., downtown on Main Street. Fifteen visual artists, outdoors.
Round Rock Farmers Market, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Rock Creek Plaza.
Diwali Festival at Centennial Plaza in downtown Round Rock. The city calendar lists 1 p.m. to 10 p.m.; another listing shows a shorter window, so check with the city before you go.

Georgetown

Día de los Muertos, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Free.

Pflugerville and Cedar Park

Pfall Pfestival, 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., Pflugerville UMC on East Pecan Street. Free.
